No one knows what is going to happen to Tha Tian, or whether the same project will orbit back. We must keep a strong conscience when changes come, this community will be able to handle urbanization. The reason we have organized ‘THA TIAN: Where Bangkok City Was Born’ exhibition is for this community to learn the past. They must be aware of the history and background of their places’ cultures, traditions and surroundings. Learning the past allows us to a better understanding our presences. They will be able to retain their identities amidst the changes.’‘THA TIAN: Where Bangkok City Was Born’ exhibition is being held from now until February 1, 2015. There are the displayed panel exhibition and fascinating activities including historical seminar, architecture, past photos or even bike trip to visit Tha Tian markets, temples, palaces and communities along historical area of Rattanakosin Island.          The exhibition illustrates ‘Tha Tian’ as the origin of Bangkok; it has been one of the oldest and largest communities since the Ayutthaya era. It had become more important with time, serving as both a port and a crucial frontier town. After the Ayutthaya era, Tha Tian was a part of two consecutive capital cities – Thonburi and Rattanakosin. It was also where many temples and markets were located. Tha Tian was full of the ultimate history and culture including the hub for boat transportation, shopping destination, first university, first western-style government complex. Tha Tian was also appointed as the site of the capital city twice during Thonburi era and Rattanakosin era. Today, Tha Tian becomes one of the popular tourism destinations in Bangkok.          A teen short film ‘The Origin of Bangkok, The Origin of Love’ produced by Ma-Deaw Chookiat Sakveerakul, well-known Thai film director and screenwriter is also presented at the exhibition.
