Thai Hotels Price Continues to be Good Value for Money


           Hotels in Thailand are still affordable for domestic travellers in early 2014.Krabi is only destination where hotel prices increased          Thailand, 6 October 2014: The latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI) unveiled the average price paid by Thais for a hotel room in Thailand during the first six months of 2014 decreased by 5 percent, or an average of 2,667 THB per night.          The average price paid by Thais when travelling in their home country saw a decrease at the start of the year, mainly as a result of the political situation. During this period, Phuket hotel prices saw a 10 per cent fall to 3,250 THB. On the eastern seaboard, hotel prices in Pattaya recorded a 9 per cent drop 2,503 THB, while Bangkok prices decreased 8 per cent to 2,235 THB. A 5 per cent slide took Chiang Mai to 1,855 THB while Koh Samui slipped 1 per cent to 3,098 THB per night.           Krabi, on the other hand, was the only destination on the survey that experienced a jump in prices with the average hotel price paid per night increasing by 5 per cent to 3,226 THB.           Average hotel prices paid by Thais when travel in Thailand in H1 2014 compared with H1 2013 in THB           When it comes to hotel prices paid when travelling abroad, the survey found that Thais were more willing to pay higher rates. From all countries surveyed Thailand was found to have the third largest gap between domestic and international hotel rates after Argentina and India.          Of the 32 countries analysed, 27 paid more abroad than at home with several having a significant gap between the two sums. The Argentineans spent 2,665 THB a night more on average when travelling abroad, followed closely by the Indians on 2,315 THB and the Thais on 2,112 THB.
