Thai AirAsia X, Thailand’s first low fare, long-haul carrier is going the X-tra mile to offer more convenience and travel options by launching its “X-tra Onboard” services which include a one-stop Sky Ticket service along with a new expansive menu. The airline has partnered up with Quality Express, Keisei Electric Railway, Kansai Airport Transportation Enterprise and Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan in order to offer bus, train and attraction tickets in Japan for purchase onboard—creating a convenient one-stop service exclusively available for Thai AirAsia X passengers starting on 1 December 2014. Passengers traveling to Japan will now be able to conveniently connect from the airport to downtown Tokyo and Osaka while enjoying popular tourist attractions such as Universal Studios Japan or the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. We are excited to be the first airline to partner up with major transportation providers and offer tickets to local attractions onboard which will certainly be advantageous for our passengers who can now maximize their time at the destination by avoiding any ticket cues.” “Beyond our low fares and excellent connectivity, the freedom to choose a travel experience that suits each person’s need and the ability to purchase tickets from the one-stop Sky Ticket service onboard is priceless. Thai AirAsia X’s variety of seats, meals, and tickets onboard make us an airline of choices—whether it is a choice between our award-winning business class seats, quiet zone or regular economy class seats or the ability to choose from up to 24 items on our menu, we believe that such choices will create a better travel experience for each individual traveler. We are confident that the new additions will increase our ancillary income from 15% to 20%,” added the CEO. Apart from the high-speed train from Narita airport to Nippori and Ueno station, Ordinary 7-day JR passes* are also available onboard—enabling passengers to travel all over Japan on all JR modes of transportation including trains and busses. Those arriving in Osaka can also purchase Airport Limousine Bus Tickets from Kansai International Airport to Osaka Station along with tickets to Osaka’s famous attractions such Universal Studios Japan where Harry Potter fans can experience the latest attraction—The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
