Today, Local Alike, a social enterprise connecting travelers around the world to authentic Thai travel experiences has landed in Chiang Mai. As recent a winner of AIS The Startup Award, this Bangkok-based startup aims to transform Thai tourism by utilizing community-based tourism as a mean to create sustainable economic opportunities for locals. Local Alike promises that up to 70% of what each traveler pays goes right back into the community involved as income and as contribution towards their development goals. Local Alike kicks off their Chiang Mai branch by launching the following three short day-trips that are enjoyable by all ages -- starting at only 1,000 THB per traveler: 1. Chiang Mai Silversmith Route (Sept. 28, 2014) -- In collaboration with Fuen Baan Yan Viang Chiang Mai Network, Chumchon Muang Rak Chiang Mai Network and Khon Jai Baan would like to invite you to join us on the trip "Silversmith Route Chiang Mai" on September 28, 2014, our one day trip that allows you to experience Chiang Mai in uniquely different way. You will be introduced to remarkable historic and ancient communities in the Chiang Mai old city which still maintain their cultural values among social change in this modern era. 2.
